Headent Client is a client application for Tvheadend — an open-source server for live TV and recording. The app connects to a Tvheadend server that the user has access to and configures themselves. The app does not provide any TV content or channels.
The app stores locally on the device the settings needed to connect to the user-provided server: server address (host, port, HTTP/HTTPS), username and password for the Tvheadend server, and app preferences (language, audio tracks, view mode, optional parental PIN). This data is stored only in the device's local storage and is never sent to the app's operator or any third party. Credentials are sent solely to the server the user configured, in order to authenticate and retrieve live streams, EPG and recordings (DVR).
• No analytics or telemetry. • No advertising. • No third-party tracking SDKs. • No data sent to the developer or third parties. • No access to contacts, location or photos.
The app communicates only with the server(s) the user configures. Because Tvheadend servers on a local network often lack TLS, the app also allows unencrypted (HTTP) connections — the protocol is chosen by the user when adding a server.
INTERNET — connect to the user's server. RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW and REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS are optional and used only if the user enables auto-start on device boot (common on TV boxes). Not used unless explicitly enabled.
All data is stored locally only. Uninstalling the app removes all stored data (including credentials and PIN). Backup/restore is entirely user-controlled.
The website itself is static and collects no analytics or telemetry. If you fill in the tester form (Testers page), the operator processes the data you enter: your Google account e-mail address and, optionally, your name/nickname, device type and model, Android version, server information and a contact. For security reasons the submission also records your IP address and browser type. The purpose is to add you to the app's closed test on Google Play and to communicate with you about testing. The legal basis is your consent, given by submitting the form, which you may withdraw at any time. Your e-mail address is shared with Google (Google Play) solely to add you to the test; otherwise the data is not shared with third parties. The data is kept for the duration of the test and deleted afterwards — or on your request. You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data and to withdraw consent. The website uses a single cookie (lang) that remembers the language you selected. It is set only when you choose a language in the switcher — a strictly necessary functional cookie that is not used for tracking and, under ePrivacy rules, does not require consent. If you do not pick a language, the site merely guesses it from your browser settings and stores nothing. The website uses no analytics or advertising cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which sends your IP address to Google.
The app is not directed to children and does not collect data about children.
