Headent Client is built for a TV remote: D-pad, OK and BACK do most of the work, and the colour, number and media keys are shortcuts. This page lists what each key does on a TV box, screen by screen.
The player behaves a little differently in the Modern and Classic interface. Pick your mode — rows that apply to only one of them are marked.
Remotes differ, so the picture is only a guide. The app understands the standard Android TV keys — if your remote sends a different code for GUIDE or INFO, the diagnostics in Settings → Remote control will tell you.
These keys work the same on the home screen, in lists, the guide, the archive and settings.
| ▲▼◀▶ | Move the focus. |
| OK | Open or confirm the focused item. |
| BACK | One step back; on the home screen it closes the app (after a confirmation). |
| Jump straight to Channels, Radio, Archive and Settings. | |
| GUIDE | Open the TV guide (also the EPG key on many remotes). |
| INFO | Programme detail of the focused channel or item. |
Channels, Radio and the favourites rail on the home screen.
| ▲▼ | Move one channel up or down. |
| ◀▶ | Jump five channels; at the end it wraps around to the other end. |
| ▲ | On the first channel: focus the search field; from there ▲ again reaches the category chips and the top bar. |
| OK | Play the channel. |
| Hold OK | Open the channel's programme list (what is on now and next) without playing it. |
| INFO | Detail of the current programme, with recording if the server allows it. |
A grid of channels and time with day tabs at the top and a filter for channel groups and favourites.
| ◀▶ | Earlier or later programme; at the edge of the day it moves to the previous or next day. |
| ▲▼ | Previous or next channel. |
| OK | Programme detail: play (live, or from the start for a channel being recorded), record or cancel recording. |
| BACK | Close the detail, then leave the guide — back to the player if you came from it. |
Live TV in both interfaces.
| CH+CH− / ▲▼ | Next or previous channel. A short zap bar shows the number, logo, programme and progress. In Settings → Appearance you can switch it to the full overlay instead. |

| ⏭⏮ | The media keys Next / Previous do the same as CH+ / CH−. |
| TV | The TV key opens the channel list; while watching a recording it returns to live TV. |
| ★ | The Bookmark key (Google TV remotes) adds or removes the playing channel from favourites. |
What OK and the arrows do while a channel is playing depends on the interface.
| OK | Open the overlay: a strip of channel cards over the picture and a control row below it. BACK closes it. Modern |
| ◀▶ | Browse the channel cards; OK switches to the focused channel. Modern |
| ▼ / ▲ | ▼ moves down to the control row (TV guide, Audio, ⏮ Play ⏭, Subtitles, More); ▲ goes back to the cards. Modern |

| ⋯ | More menu: Channel list, Sleep timer, Info, Stream profile, Record, Teletext. Modern |
| ◀▶ | During playback also open the overlay; in a recording they seek instead. Modern |
| OK | Open the channel list over the picture. Classic |
| ◀▶ / MENU | Show the control bar. Classic |
| ◀▶ OK | In the bar: move between buttons, OK activates, BACK hides it. ▲▼ still switch channels. Classic |

| ◀▶ | Jump seven channels. |
| ▲ | From the top of the list: focus the group pill — ◀▶ change the group, ▲ opens search, ▼ or OK back to the list. |
| OK | First press switches the channel behind the list, second press closes the list. With “Switch channel with a single OK” in Settings → Remote control one press does both. |

| ⏮⏭ | Previous / Next media keys: one minute. |
| ◀▶ OK | On the seek bar in the controls: ◀▶ move the position, OK jumps there. |
